Leonardo Cesari Jazz Combo was born out of the quest for a sound that weds the jazz of the 1950s and 60s with the rythms distilled from contemporary club music. Here are ten original soundtracks, that experiment with the fine line between musical tradition and faster-paced moods, played by the typical jazz formation: the quintet. Federico Pascucci plays the tenor sax, Claudio Corvini the trumpet, Bruno Salicone the piano, Gabriele Greco doublebass, and Leonardo Cesari the drums (Cesari came up with the idea for the album and is also its arranger and producer). In the tracks, some of which are very rhythmic and danceable, one can glean the legacy of jazz legends like Horace Silver, Cannonbal Adderly and Lee Morgan.
