Indian cinema with its characteristic music together with Indian food has not only spread all over Indian society, but has also been on the forefront of the spread of India’s culture around the world.
Bollywood films are a synthesis of formal and folk Indian traditional music and ancient ritual dance, with the infusion of Western techniques: this is the broken-funk/world music re-imagined by D.J. SPICE incorporated into a fruity set of killer psyche-funk arrangements. Fusing the disciplines of traditional Indian music with sounds you’d associate more closely with nujazz, electro and broken beat and nightmarish rhythms. In most of the tracks you can hear beautifully floral female falsettos meet sweeping electronics, as well as tablas grooves and sitar-beats. Vintage Bollywood movies and Indian famous recipes are a great inspiration and intermingle to create such compositions.
During the last few times in India, D.J. Spice had a very deep full immersion into all selected great Bollywood movies while eating fantastic exotic spicy food that gave him the inspiration for his great new compositions. Hindi film songs form a predominant component of Indian pop music and derive from both classical and modern sources. The advent of cassette technology in the 1980s transformed India’s popular music industry from the virtual monopoly of a single multinational LP manufacturer to a free-for-all hundreds of local cassette producers. The result was a revolution in the quantity, quality, and variety of Indian popular music and its patterns of dissemination and consumption.

The different Indian food with its variety, tastes and flavours can be found here: tracks with different mood, speed, groove but always with a distinctive exotic and tropical beat and atmosphere. The strong flavours in Indian recipes derive from spices, seasonings and leafy vegetables. That’s why Indian food has become famous world wide and is liked by non-Indians too. There are a myriad of spices and herbs that can be found in India. Without them, Indian cooking would loose its uniqueness. Herbs and spices are also one of the reasons why Indian food is becoming increasingly adored by people all over the world. One of the most famous Indian spice, curry, is one example of the ingenious blend of herbs and spices in India. The word Curry derives from kari which literally means vegetables drenched in spices. Curry became so attached to Indian cooking that in fact, it became a symbol of Indian food in all parts of the world. The perfect mixture of spices and variety in flavours in Indian recipes are made with: tamarind that is the fruit of tamarind tree and cumin seeds (Jeera) Its taste is distinctive, slightly bitter yet gives the dish a sweet aroma. When roasted or cooked in hot oil, mustard seed releases a more intense flavour, fenugreek, aniseed, ginger, star anise and coriander seeds.
